About Me

Eleanor and her horse Sage, riding the writing trails...

I live just outside of Portland, OR in the beautiful Pacific NW. My story begins in Northern California, growing up in a little town in the Bay Area. It was there that I fell in love with horses and was lucky enough to live by a boarding facility that was less than a five minute walk from my house. Horses would become an integral part of my life.

Eleanor riding Obie Gitano during her high school yearsMy very first job was tending to customers at a feed and tack store. It was adjacent to the stables that housed the horse I rode and showed for the store's owners.

Upon graduation from high school, I attended the University of California, Davis, in hopes of becoming a veterinarian. Freshman Fall Quarter meat lab for my Animal Science major had me heavily questioning veterinary medicine, however, so I switched to Zoology and then later made my way into sales...

Ten days after my graduation ceremony, I arrived in Seattle with everything that I owned packed into my 2-door Toyota Tercel. I had visited Washington state the summer before my Senior year in college, and I had known immediately that I would return to its emerald beauty as soon as possible after graduation.

I have worked in sales my entire career, for environmental and hazardous waste remediation companies and a major pharmaceutical company. When I met and married my husband, then a year later became pregnant, I left the world of pharmaceutical sales to start my family. About the time my second child was almost out of diapers, I was approached by an author friend of mine to help publicize her books.

And the rest is history...

I had a blog for over a year, but now I write in 140 characters or less on Twitter. Come see what I have to say about books, publicity, writing, and more:
